The Women's Research and Education Institute (WREI) Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy are designed to train potential leaders in public policy formation to examine issues from the perspective, experiences, and needs of women. A WREI Fellow works a minimum of 35 hours a week in a Congressional office as a legislative aide on policy issues affecting women. Fellows meet weekly for issue seminars directed by the WREI staff.
The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of $1,300 for eight months (January through August) plus $500 for health insurance. Fellows will be reimbursed up to $750 for tuition each semester for the cost of three hours tuition at a Fellow's home institution.
